There are myriads of motivational speakers out there with their self-help books and philosophies. They have theories and studies and creative opinions on the best way for you to take control of your life through their methods. While you can certainly choose to lend yourself to one school of thought or another I have a better suggestion– learn to start truly living! How do you do that? Stop paying others to live your life: control your renovations, cook your food, decorate your home, and be your outlet for expression. There is nothing in life that can compare to the rewards and empowerment of mastering the skills and crafts of the self-reliant. Life can seem pretty full of drudgery. It can be complicated and painful and require a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. But the doorway to “the good life” lies in living YOUR life! At least that was the philosophy our family started living by a few short years ago, and no lie, it’s been amazing! So we opened Café Hope, our own little blog of schemes and adventures that can be anything as simple as growing our own garden and as exotic as cooking a frittata. If this sound like the kind of life you’ve been dreaming of then come on in and take a seat at the Café Hope!
The Life Line of Café Hope
Anyone has a right to begin living a full life, but not everyone is prepared for what it takes right out of the gate. These are the things we find keep our home running on a daily basis:
- Our Library: We started collecting books a long time ago because knowledge is man’s best weapon against entropy. We read everything from do-it-yourself manuals to high fantasy. And of course we have a large section of cookbooks.
- Our Garden: Without fresh fruits and veggies gourmet is less than brilliant. Once you start growing them by yourself, then everything takes on a whole new level of flavor.
- Our Duo-Tool Box: We couldn’t build, repair, or create anything in our home without the proper tools. One of our toolboxes lives it’s life in the garage beside our highly trusted extension and articulating ladder and the other toolbox adorns our kitchen walls and drawers.
With the proper tools and knowledge at our fingertips there isn’t a single project we aren’t willing to undertake.
